UPDATE | Police searching for missing 76-year-old Fort Erie man

October 30, 2024, 9:06 a.m. | ORIGINAL STORY: A 76-year-old man from Fort Erie is considered by police to be missing.
In a news release, Niagara Regional Police said Ervin Wayne Smith was last seen Tuesday at about 3:38 p.m. in the area of Lakeview Road and Lakehurst Avenue.
He is believed to be on foot, police said, also noting he suffers from a medical condition.
Police say he could be in the Hamilton or Peel areas.
He is described as white male with a slim build, five feet seven inches tall.
He has white hair with a bald spot in the back, prescription glasses, and was wearing blue jeans, a black coat, green shoes, and black hat.
The police and his family are concerned for his welfare.
