There will be fun in the sun in mid-November for a local cause.
Community Living Fort Erie will host its annual Christmas Around the World dance and fundraiser, this year with a Caribbean theme.
The evening promises to be a “vibrant celebration filled with tropical decorations, colorful costumes, and an authentic Caribbean menu,” says a news release from Community Living Fort Erie.
It will take place November 16 at the Leisureplex banquet hall.
“We are thrilled to bring a touch of the Caribbean to Fort Erie this year,” said Sandy Leemet, executive director.
This event sells out every year, thanks to the incredible support from our community, said Leemet, adding it is encouraged to secure tickets early.
Local businesses and organizations are invited to join in the festivities.
Sponsorship packages offer a variety of benefits, including visibility on event tickets and programs, recognition on the Community Living Fort Erie website and social media channels, opportunities for media representation, and a VIP table of eight for dinner.
Major sponsors will also have the chance to display banners or corporate signage at the event and receive a charitable donation receipt.
For those looking to attend, tables of four are available for $500 or $250, and businesses can also choose to donate a raffle prize or sponsor an ad in the program.
“We are grateful for any support offered and welcome questions from those interested in contributing,” said Margaret Fidler, manager of community development.
“Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with intellectual challenges and their families in the Greater Fort Erie community,” added Fidler.

This year’s event has been planned by a team of 12 dedicated volunteers who have been hard at work since February. With live entertainment, a photo booth, themed beverages, and so much more, guests can look forward to an enchanting evening that captures the spirit of a Caribbean Christmas.
Despite economic challenges, Community Living Fort Erie remains committed to keeping the event accessible by maintaining ticket prices and sponsorship costs for the past 12 years, said the news release about the event.
