Public skating returns to Fort Erie arenas

Public skating is returning to Fort Erie arenas this fall, with the first Saturday skate scheduled for early September at the Leisureplex.

In a social media post last Friday, the Town of Fort Erie announced that public skating will return Saturday, September 5, on the Jaycee rink at the Leisureplex, 3 Municipal Centre Drive.

Saturday skates at the Leisureplex will run from 2 to 3:30 p.m., though there will be no public skating September 19.

Public skating will return to Crystal Ridge Arena, 89 Ridge Road South, on Friday, October 2.

Crystal Ridge Arena will host Friday night public skating from 8 to 10 p.m. and Sunday afternoon public skating from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Public skating will not run on statutory holidays or during tournament weekends, including December 4 to 6, 2026, and January 15 to 17, 2027.

Saturday and Sunday matinee skates are $2 per person.

Friday night public skating at Crystal Ridge Arena is $3 per person.

Other ice programming also returns this fall at the Leisureplex.

Tots and adults skating will run Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 2 p.m. on the Jaycee rink.

Men’s pay-as-you-play hockey for players 18 and older will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Seniors 55-plus pay-as-you-play hockey will run Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to noon.

Pay-as-you-play hockey is $5 per player, per day.

The schedule takes effect September 1 and runs through spring 2027.
