Cookie fundraiser brings sweet support to Our Lady of Victory

Our Lady of Victory Catholic Elementary School is inviting Fort Erie residents to buy cookies and help students enjoy more activities and learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

Running through November 21, the online fundraiser partners the school’s parent council with the Georgetown-based Terracotta Cookie Company to raise money for field trips, speakers and ease costs for families.

Ethan Peeler, the parent council representative who organized the fundraiser, told Fort Erie Radio the goal is to enrich kids’ lives.

“If we can raise funds and give them more enrichment opportunities beyond the curriculum, that’s what it’s all about,” said Peeler.

The funds will help cover experiences like motivational speakers, safety presentations, and class outings, ensuring all students can take part regardless of financial barriers.

He added that Terracotta’s system makes it easier for families and supporters to contribute without door-to-door selling.

“We were looking for something that would be a little more streamlined, something that reaches a wider audience and lets people support at their own leisure. No pressure, no awkward conversations,” said Peeler.

The initiative offers frozen cookie dough boxes for $15 and pre-baked shortbread boxes for $10, with 40 per cent of each sale going to the school. Orders are open online and will be ready for pickup at the school gym on December 18 between 3 and 5 p.m.

On why they went with partnering with Terracotta, Peeler said the parent council wanted something that would stand out and give people in the community a different option to support the school.

“To my understanding, nobody in the area has done a fundraiser with Terracotta before,” he said. “Life’s hard for everybody, but it’s nice to be in a small, tight-knit community where you feel the love, the support, and the blessings that come from our connections with each other.”
