Stevensville to host a volunteer job fair on Wednesday

A group calling itself “Downtown Stevensville” will host its first volunteer job fair on Wednesday, bringing together local non-profits, service providers and residents to build connections and strengthen community involvement.

The free event takes place at 7 p.m. at the Fort Erie Conservation Club on Ott Road. Organizers said in a news release that the fair will give groups an opportunity to share their missions, highlight success stories and recruit new volunteers.

“We want to connect residents with organizations that need their help, and at the same time showcase the incredible work happening in our community,” organizer Mary-Lou Ambrose-Little of Downtown Stevensville said in an emailed statement.

Participating organizations will be provided with complimentary booths, including a table, chair and name placard. The event will also feature a volunteer spotlight segment for groups to present their work.

Residents attending will be able to meet group leaders one-on-one, learn about available roles and register on-site to begin volunteering immediately.

The fair is presented in partnership with the Fort Erie Conservation Club, the Fort Erie Job Gym, the Town of Fort Erie and Downtown Stevensville. There is no fee to attend.

Ambrose-Little can be contacted for more information at (905) 736-9245.
