Town looking for volunteers to help shape Bridgeburg’s future

The Town of Fort Erie is putting together a focus group to guide development of the Bridgeburg North area and is asking local residents to get involved.

The group will include eight to 10 volunteers who will meet with town and consultant staff at key points during the planning process.

According to the town’s website, the focus group will help create “the vision statement, goals, objectives and priorities” for the secondary plan that will shape how the area grows.

The town says it is looking for a mix of residents, landowners, business owners, community organizations and a developer representative. A list of recommended names will go to council for approval.

“We’re building the future of Bridgeburg North and you can help shape it,” the town said in a post to social media on Thursday. “If you’re a resident, landowner, business owner, or part of a community organization, this is your chance to get involved.”

Applications are open until October 8 and must be submitted online at letstalk.forterie.ca.

The secondary plan is being developed in four phases, beginning with background research, followed by a draft plan, a recommended draft for adoption and final approval.
