‘We Love Fort Erie’ concert bringing diverse lineup to race track in September

A night of live music at the Fort Erie Race Track will see a diverse lineup of bands, but also a crowd showing its love for the community.

The We Love Fort Erie concert will take place September 14, headlined by Escape the Fate, a post-hardcore, metalcore band from Las Vegas that has more than three million Spotify listeners and 277,000 followers on Instagram.

Also performing are The Trip, a locally-grown Tragically Hip tribute band, as well as Sven Gali, a Canadian band that had its first hit ‘Under the Influence’ in 1992 after being signed to a major label.

They have been nominated for two Junos and have performed with big names such as Def Leppard, Foreigner, April Wine, Candlebox, and Pearl Jam.

The Mandeville Duo, consisting of Serena Pryne and Nick from The Mandevilles, have also been added to the lineup.

The concert is organized by Fort Erie Rona and its manager Jeff Hill, who also put together a concert at the race track in 2022 that collected $46,000 for COPE, a food bank in Fort Erie.

This year’s concert will raise money for COPE and also for the Crystal Ridge Dream Center, a non-profit dedicated to serving the diverse needs of individuals and families living in Fort Erie.

Hill said hosting a charity concert is all about “giving back to the community.”

Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m., ending at 11 p.m.

Tickets are $49.88 and available online through Eventbrite or can be purchased in-person at RONA (584 Garrison Rd.) at the service desk, or at the race track (230 Catherine St.) on live racing days. Tickets must be purchased to attend.

“You’re getting some great entertainment in return for your donation,” said Hill.
