UPDATE | Students return to class after ‘unknown safety concern’ at St. Philomena

JUNE 19, 2024, 2:33 p.m. | UPDATE — Police stated in a news release that their investigation earlier today was prompted by a voicemail left by an anonymous caller last night around 6:11 p.m. The caller advised that there was some kind of a threat to the school.
JUNE 19, 2024, 12:13 p.m. | FORT ERIE, ON — Earlier this morning, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) investigated what they called an “unknown safety concern” at St. Philomena Catholic Elementary School.
In a post to X/Twitter, NRPS stated that students were “evacuated and are in a safe location” and that there would be “more information to follow.”
57 minutes later, NRPS reported that detectives had determined that there were no threats to the safety of students, and that all students had returned to class.
St. Philomena Catholic Elementary School is located 1332 Phillips Street and is part of the Lakeshore Catholic High School family of schools.
