Stevensville Farmers’ Market returns for ninth season with a new twist

The Stevensville Farmers’ Market will be returning on June 5, 2024, running every Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m. until September 25. And starting this year, there will be food trucks as well.

Market Manager Fran Mawdsley said the Fort Erie Conservation Club will be showcased to the public on June 5 to highlight how much support the club gives to the market.

Opening day will also showcase the new food trucks, which include The Runaway Greek, Big Al’s Truck of Munch, Purple Perk Mobile Coffee, and an ice cream truck.

The Runaway Greek and Big Al’s will alternate weeks at the market.

Another new addition, she said, will be high school students reading books to children on the steps of the library.

There will be more than 30 vendors on site each week including traditional farmers’ market vendors, direct sales, home-based and commercial products, day vendors, and local community groups.

Mawdsley said she intends to expand the market to include more vendors, based on feedback from last year. She is hoping the community will come out and support the vendors and the food trucks.

“If they don’t get enough support, they will not be back again next year,” she said.

Mawdsley added that new vendors are welcomed and encouraged to join the market.

The Stevensville Farmers’ Market is located at 2508 Stevensville Road at Stevensville Memorial Hall.
