‘Something for everyone’ at job fair focused on skilled trades next week

People looking to get to work will have a chance to explore new opportunities at an event next week.

The ‘Trade Up’ career and employment expo will take place Tuesday at Cappa College, a recent addition to the hub of education at Fort Erie International Academy (FEIA), which also includes Sheridan College at CCTT.

Hosted by Job Gym and in partnership with Cappa College and the Town of Fort Erie, there will be 19 exhibitors on hand hiring for immediate and future needs, says a news release about the expo.

“This event is a fantastic opportunity for job seekers to connect directly with employers and explore diverse career paths,” says the release, adding there be a wide range of positions available and valuable community resources on site.

There’s “something for everyone,” organizers are saying.

The fair welcomes individuals, from entry-level to experienced professionals.

Along with employment opportunities, community support organizations will be available to provide resources on education, upskilling, apprenticeships and trades, and Indigenous services.

The expo will take place on June 24 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Cappa College, located at 7 Tait Avenue.

This event is free to attend and no registration is required.

Job seekers are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes, as some employers may conduct on-the-spot interviews, says the news release.

A list of participating employers and available positions can be found at jobgym.com.
