Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Garrison Road parking lot

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at 9:05 p.m. on December 31 in a parking lot near Garrison and Concession roads in Fort Erie, according to Niagara Regional Police (NRP).

The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was assessed by paramedics at the scene, but did not go to the hospital.

In a response to Fort Erie Radio, NRP said the collision involved a vehicle and a pedestrian and was reported as a motor vehicle collision with injuries. The investigation was handled by 5 District uniform officers.

One charge of careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act has been laid. The investigation has concluded.

Police did not release the ages or genders of the pedestrian or the driver and did not identify anyone involved, citing policy for minor collisions.

No road closures were reported because the collision occurred in the International Gateway Centre parking lot on Garrison Road near Sobeys.
