Peace Bridge to light up for World Autism Day

In honour of World Autism Day, Autism Ontario will be hosting a special event on Wednesday, April 2, to celebrate the autistic community and launch their annual Celebrate the Spectrum campaign.

The iconic Peace Bridge will be illuminated in Autism Ontario’s brand colours from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This display aims to raise awareness and show support for autistic individuals and their families.

Local dignitaries, staff from Autism Ontario, and families are invited to gather at Mather Arch (11 Niagara Pkwy.) in Fort Erie. Margaret Spoelstra, Chief Executive Officer of Autism Ontario, will deliver remarks about the significance of World Autism Day and the ongoing need for local support.

The event kicks off with light refreshments, providing a casual atmosphere for guests to mingle. A highlight of the evening will be a photo opportunity with the illuminated Peace Bridge as a backdrop.
