Orma Bleeks resigns as president of Advancing Crystal Beach

Orma Bleeks, founder and president of Advancing Crystal Beach (ACB), has resigned from her role, according to a statement issued by the board of directors on September 19.

Bleeks played a pivotal role in shaping the group’s initiatives aimed at fostering community development in Crystal Beach, and her departure leaves a notable void in the leadership of the organization she founded.

No interim or permanent successor has been named.

In her absence, the board says it remains committed to continuing the work she started.

“Let us honour Orma’s remarkable contributions by continuing to work together, united in purpose and spirit, for the benefit of Crystal Beach,” the statement reads.

The statement also outlined ACB’s plans for the future, including the development of a strategic plan for 2025, with a focus on identifying new opportunities for community support.

Recent initiatives include the launch of two student bursaries and the addition of new board members, including a volunteer coordinator and treasurer.
