Niagara Regional Police conducting training exercise in Stevensville today

The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) has announced a training exercise for its Emergency Task Unit (ETU) scheduled for today, May 29, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The training will take place in the area of West Main Street and Old Mill Road in Stevensville.

Nearby Stevensville residents can expect to see an increased police presence during the exercise. There will also be sounds of simulated gunfire and controlled explosions.

Police assure the public that these are training exercises only.

For safety reasons, the public is asked to avoid the training area.

Signage and police tape will be used to mark the perimeter.
