GFESS student hosting SPCA fundraiser at library on Saturday

A local high school student will be providing treats for a good cause on Saturday.
Bianca Martin will be at the Fort Erie Public Library Centennial Branch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. serving baked goods like cupcakes and cinnamon rolls as a fundraiser for the Burlington SPCA.
She’s chosen the out-of-town humane society as the benefactor because she has a liking for beagles, and they have one set as their profile picture on social media.
Martin’s grandmother’s beagle, Chloe, died two years ago.
In September, for her 16th birthday, Martin held a pet drive that benefitted Happy Days Animal Sanctuary at the Stevensville-Welland border.
She has also hosted a number of other events for various rescue organizations from outside the region.
“I just really enjoy helping all of them,” she said about her love for animals.
Martin is a Grade 11 student at Greater Fort Erie Secondary School.
