Free tax help options available for low-income residents

Two different organizations are offering free assistance with filing taxes electronically this year.

Advancing Crystal Beach (ACB) is hosting in-person e-filing support events at Crystal Ridge Community Church (241 Elmwood Ave.) on March 21 and March 28 from 10 a.m. to noon. Those attending are asked to bring their organized tax receipts for a smoother filing process.

For those who are unable to attend in person, a contactless option is available. Contact Orma Bleeks of ACB at to schedule a contactless filing appointment.

The Salvation Army is also offering free tax preparation services to low-income residents of Greater Fort Erie.

Their program runs from March through November and offers in-person service this year. To access this service, tax documents can be dropped off during food bank hours on Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 3:30 p.m. at their 255 Gilmore Road location.
