Fort Erie seeks candidates for key planning and infrastructure roles

The Town of Fort Erie has two staff positions it is looking to fill.

An infrastructure asset technician is sought to be hired by the local government, someone who will provide coordination, analysis, and data management to support the management of capital assets in the engineering division through the use of geographic information, enterprise asset management, and asset work order management systems.

The successful candidate should have a high school diploma, as well as a post-secondary diploma in civil engineering or geographic information systems, or a Bachelor of Science in geography with a focus on geomatics, along with a number of other qualifications.

This union position offers a starting hourly rate of $31.44, based on 37.5 hours weekly, and a comprehensive health, benefit and pension package, says the Town’s job posting. The deadline to apply is noon on September 13.

The Town is also seeking an intermediate development planner who will process major development applications, prepare planning documents and provide planning information to municipal staff, council, developers, stakeholders and the public.

They will also support long-range and policy planning activities as required, says the job posting.

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in planning or a related field with three to five years of experience in a similar role. They will be a member or eligible for membership with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute or the Canadian Institute of Planners.

Compensation includes an annual salary of $82,909 to $99,491 for this non-union position, based on 37.5 hours weekly, and also includes a comprehensive health, benefit and pension package.

The deadline to apply is tomorrow at noon.
