Brain Injury Association ‘rebuilding’ thanks to grant from Ontario Trillium Foundation

One of Ontario’s earliest brain injury associations will get a helping hand in completing their good work.

The Brain Injury Association of Fort Erie (BIAFE) has been awarded the Resilient Community Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

BIAFE plans to use the grant to help revitalize the group by developing a long-term sustainable strategic plan, establishing new and rejuvenate existing fundraising initiatives, and improve program infrastructure.

Those changes will allow the group to deliver on their mission “to provide unwavering support, advocacy, and resources to individuals and families affected by brain injuries within Fort Erie” and South Niagara.

“With the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Fund, BIAFE begins an exciting new chapter of growth,” said Jackie Denham, co-founder and president of BIAFE.

“This grant enables us to bring new life and strategies into our existing infrastructure, ensuring that we can continue to serve our communities with resources and facilities,” said Denham. “Together, we’re not just rebuilding; we’re re-imagining what’s possible for BIAFE and the communities we proudly serve.”

The Resilient Community Grant supports community-based organizations that deliver programs and services in Ontario that need funding to recover and build capacity, resilience and sustainability.

Through the application and eventual success of this grant application, BIAFE is “committed to developing and implementing strategic plans that address current organizational challenges to recover and build resilience.”

BIAFE offers unwavering support, and resources to individuals and families affected by brain injuries. The group combines personalized case management and comprehensive life-skill development offered in their day program, to “empower individuals on their journey towards recovery and an enhanced quality of life.”

BIAFE will be sharing further details about the initiatives made possible by this grant, including a recognition event to celebrate the group’s achievements and provide insights into how the grant has aided in the revitalization of the association, programs and offerings.
