Black History Month: Future Black Female drop-in sessions at FEIA

Fort Erie International Academy (FEIA) students will have the opportunity to engage with the Future Black Female program this February. These campus drop-in sessions take place monthly, every second Monday and third Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., in room 2017.

Future Black Female is about building a stronger community and for the future of Black women and families, which offers benefits for both male and female students, especially during Black History Month. It is important to create welcoming spaces for Black students to feel comfortable and learn about their heritage.

These drop-in sessions allow Black students to come together to share, learn, and empower each other. Although it is important to strengthen self-advocacy skills, participants should expect to be reminded of the importance of family, as well.

On February 16, Future Black Female will also be hosting their second annual youth conference at Eden High School in St. Catharines, located at 535 Lake Street. This event will feature guest speaker Lydia Collins, who is an author, educator, and content creator, with a focus on African, Caribbean and Black (ACB) Communities.
