A thrilling FEIA family feud at the OSBA semifinals

Earlier tonight, both Fort Erie International Academy (FEIA) Falcons men’s teams played each other in the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) playoffs; FEIA versus FEIA Red.

This was a semi-final matchup with the winning team taking on the Royal Crown School (RCS) Lions this Sunday for the championship.

Before the game, awards were presented for performance throughout the OSBA regular season. FEIA Red head coach Charles Hantoumakos won coach of the year. University of Virginia commit Ishan Sharma won MVP, and Marial Akuentok won defensive player of the year.

Between both FEIA men’s teams, five players were named OSBA All-Stars. This includes Ishan Sharma and Marial Akuentok named to the first team, Christopher Kumu and Chidube Ekwommadu named to the second, and Brayden Jackson named to the third.

The third quarter was game-changing as the FEIA Red Falcons were able to outscore FEIA 20-10, providing them with a 15-point lead heading into the final quarter. This hard-fought battle resulted in a final score of 68-61 in favour of FEIA Red.

This squad had three players in double digits: Christopher Kumu, Ishan Sharma and Felix Kossaras. They combined for 46 points and Kumu led the pack with 17. Kossaras had a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. On the losing side, Ryan Kalambay had 16 points and dominated in the paint.
