About $70,000 in damage was done at a local motel Sunday night when a vehicle collided with a pillar holding up a canopy.

That’s according to Niagara Regional Police media relations officer Constable Jesse Vujasic, who also explained there were no injuries and that no charges were laid in the incident at the Knights Inn at the corner of Garrison Road and Central Avenue.
A 56-year-old male was operating a white pickup truck in the parking lot when it reversed and hit the pillar, said Vujasic.
The incident occurred at about 8 p.m.
