Advancing Crystal Beach pop-up market being held Thursday

A monthly opportunity to buy fresh produce at a highly discounted price is returning this week.

Hosted by non-profit organization Advancing Crystal Beach (ACB), this month’s pop-up market will take place Thursday at 10 a.m., and it is recommended to arrive as early as possible.

The event takes place at Crystal Ridge Community Church at 241 Elmwood Avenue in Crystal Beach.

More than 50 people attended last month’s offering.

Ontario Works is also collaborating with ACB to help promote the markets, said ACB co-chair Scott Boumeester last month in an interview with Fort Erie Radio.

He also noted that many customers come from nearby Eastwood Manor.

The markets are also made possible through a grant from United Way Niagara.

The group’s roots began in 2015 in an effort to celebrate and improve Crystal Beach, which has become a thriving area with many retail and commercial options.

The next market after Thursday’s will be on March 13 at the same venue.
