Cinema Lounge thanks community for support; announces closure

A unique entertainment option and fixture of downtown Ridgeway has run its end credits.
According to a post on Facebook, Ridge Cinema Lounge, a small movie theatre and gathering space, closed its doors on January 31.
Credit: Frank M. Pirri | Facebook“For the past year, we’ve been honored to be a part of your lives, sharing movie nights, first dates, family outings, and unforgettable moments on the big screen,” says the post on Facebook.
“We want to thank the amazing Town of Fort Erie, our supporters, and every single one of you who walked through our doors,” the farewell said, adding the venue was “more than just a theatre,” but that it was a “community.”
“Anyone who purchased tickets, booked an event, or held a membership, refunds have been processed via e-transfer to the email address associated with your purchase or account,” the Facebook post says.
“As we close this chapter, we are filled with gratitude for the love and support you’ve given us over the years. It has been an incredible journey, and we couldn’t have done it without you,” says the Facebook post.
Ownership, who took over the cinema in 2023, could not be reached by Fort Erie Radio for comment this week.
