‘Happy Hookers’ keeping people warm since 2019

A trio of women known as the “Happy Hookers” have been keeping people warm since 2019.
That’s when they started their group, which knits Afghan blankets for various organizations in town and other parts of the region.
They have made hundreds over the years, and just recently dropped off 25 blankets at the new Gilmore Lodge.
The Happy Hookers will donate their product to “anyone who requires them,” said member Donna Biggins, also noting many donations have been made to the Douglas Memorial site.
Biggins started knitting at a young age after being taught by her mother. Something she’s always had in her skillset, she decided a few years ago to put it to use.
“I got older and decided I needed a hobby,” she told Fort Erie Radio.
Biggins’ other team members are Jane Leach and Jeanette Vujich.
But they are also looking for help.
