A young man was airlifted to hospital but only suffered minor injuries after being ejected from the vehicle he was operating in the Stevensville area late on Boxing Day.
At about 10:50 p.m., Niagara Regional Police (NRP) responded to a single-vehicle collision in the area of Netherby and Townline roads.
An initial investigation revealed that a 17-year-old driver from Fort Erie was travelling on Netherby Road.
He was operating a white, 2015 Buick Encore, which left the roadway causing the driver to be ejected from the vehicle, police told Fort Erie Radio in a statement.
He was treated at the scene by Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics and the Fort Erie Fire Department.
As a precaution, Air Ornge transported the occupant to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, police said.
At this time no charges have been laid, said NRP spokesperson Constable Luke Lindley on Friday.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police.
