History and Halloween colliding at Ridgeway Ghost Walks this month

An event running until the end of the month is designed to educate and potentially frighten those who participate.
Ridgeway Ghost Walks will kick off Wednesday night, and run five days a week leading up to Halloween.
But it’s more than just walk with scary sights and sounds. It will involve history lessons about buildings in downtown Ridgeway, and a choice of two movies being shown at Ridge Cinema Lounge at the end of the walk, which lasts about two hours.
“It’s a little more interactive” than the average ghost walk, said Chris Schickluna, owner of the movie theatre and member of the Ridgeway BIA.
The tours will be conducted by Christine Whelan, a reporter at the Fort Erie Observer.
“There’s a big script with historical facts, creepy and spooky facts,” said Schickluna.
The walks run from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday.
‘The Addams Family’ and ‘Poltergeist’ will be the films screened the first week, followed by ‘Beetlejuice’ (1988) and ‘A Quiet Place 2’ in the second week.
‘The Corpse Bride’ and ‘The Exorcist’ will be offered the final week.
Shickluna said one movie will be geared to families and the other for mature audiences.
Tickets are $45 per adult and $25 for children ages 10 to 14 and can be purchased at cinemalounge.ca.
Hot chocolate from Molinillo and Cacao is included, as well as popcorn at the Cinema Lounge.
