Power outage reported in Ridgeway, service restored in under an hour

Some residents in Ridgeway experienced a power outage earlier this afternoon.

Canadian Niagara Power announced on X/Twitter at 2:17 p.m. that they were investigating the outage but could not provide an estimated time of restoration.

Power was fully restored across Greater Fort Erie shortly before 3 p.m.

While an official cause for the outage has not been provided, Facebook users in the area near Burleigh Road North and Dominion Road reported hearing a loud noise that resembled the sound of a malfunctioning transformer.
