Consider grabbing a fast food breakfast this morning in support of a great cause.
The newly opened McDonald’s restaurant in Ridgeway, located at 409 Gorham Road, is hosting a fundraiser that ends today in support of Feed Niagara.
The restaurant is part of the new Ridgeway Centre plaza at Gorham and Dominion Roads.
A portion of of the proceeds from each McMuffin breakfast sandwich or meal sold this morning will go to Feed Niagara, an organization that provides safe and nutritious food to people in need within Niagara.
“We are excited to host a fundraiser in partnership with Feed Niagara and contribute towards providing meals for those in need in the Ridgeway community,” said Anne Molnar, a community relations representative at McDonald’s Canada.
“As a McDonald’s restaurant team, we pride ourselves on feeding and fostering the communities we operate in, and this initiative is another way we can deliver on that promise to the community.”
Franchise owner Matthew Katz and other local dignitaries will be hosting a grand opening celebration on August 8 with a ribbon-cutting and cheque presentation to Feed Niagara.
Fort Erie Radio will be on scene for the grand opening. Grimace, one of many iconic characters from the fictional world of McDonaldland, is expected to make an appearance, as well.
