Driver charged with careless driving after Stevensville crash

Niagara Regional Police charged a driver with careless driving after a two-vehicle crash at Stevensville Road and East Main Street in Stevensville on the evening of October 16.

Police Constable Jessica Martin said the crash happened around 6:25 p.m., when the driver pulled back onto the road without yielding the right of way to another vehicle.

No one was hurt in the crash, and police did not close any roads, Martin said.

A careless driving conviction in Ontario brings six demerit points, one of the heaviest point penalties under the Highway Traffic Act.
