Drivers should expect several road closures in Crystal Beach Saturday as more than 900 participants are registered for the annual Crystal Beach 5K.

Erie Road will also be closed between Cambridge Road West and Ridgeway Road from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Several streets along the race route will close from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., including portions of Derby Road, Queens Circle, Shannon Road and Cambridge Road West.
The kids run begins at 10:15 a.m., followed by the 5K run and walk at 11 a.m. The race starts and finishes near 4020 Erie Road.
Organizer Phil Smith previously told Fort Erie Radio he’s expecting the largest Crystal Beach 5K turnout yet. Race Roster listed more than 900 participants as of Friday morning.
The event is held annually on Thanksgiving weekend, with the timing intended to draw people to Crystal Beach after the summer tourism season.
A post-race party featuring live music, food and awards will follow at The Grove.
