Fort Erie residents get a say in new Crystal Beach park design

Fort Erie is asking residents what they want in Stadium Park, a new park planned for Crystal Beach, but the town does not expect construction to start before the fall of 2027.
The 0.32-hectare property sits at 3781 Ryan Avenue in the South Coast Village subdivision. It was dedicated to the town as parkland in March 2021.
The town has already settled on part of the design. Planned amenities include accessible pathways, benches, adult fitness equipment, shade trees and interpretive signs explaining the history of the site.
Residents can suggest additions and mark where they should go on a map of the property. The tool is posted on the town’s engagement website, letstalk.forterie.ca.

A construction team would be hired in the fall of 2027. Construction begins in the fall of 2027 or in 2028.
The town has not released a cost estimate for the park.
Council approved the Stadium Park name in 2025 to commemorate the former Crystal Beach Stadium, located across from Crystal Beach Park, which closed in 1989.
