Ridgeway man charged in drug trafficking investigation

A Ridgeway man is facing drug trafficking charges after Niagara Regional Police searched a home in the community this week.
According to Niagara Regional Police, detectives with the 5 District Fort Erie Criminal Investigations Bureau began investigating the sale of illicit substances at an address on Nicolas Road in Ridgeway in early 2026.
Police say a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was granted for the home on Tuesday and carried out by detectives on Wednesday.
A 49-year-old Ridgeway man was arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of an opioid for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with probation.
Police say he was released with a future court date.
During the search, police say detectives seized 2.3 grams of suspected fentanyl, 6.6 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, a large quantity of empty methadone bottles that were not prescribed to the accused, items consistent with drug trafficking and a replica BB handgun.
Police say a 35-year-old Fort Erie woman was also arrested at the home on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a probation order.
